Do you plan to continue writing? I’m a 23 year old, recent college graduate and I really appreciate your work here. It is nice to see somebody who has many of the same questions and conveniently already researched and answered them.
Hi Mike, I’m glad to hear that there is someone else out there that can use my research! I do plan to continue writing; its been a longer than usual since I’ve posted. The post I am working on now is about credit card currency exchange rates. Are there any specific questions you are looking to have answered? I am always looking for new topics…
Well, given your posting frequency I think it’d probably make sense to keep it to general guidelines of teaching people how to think and get started on their own. It would be nice to see the basics of financial planning and the order to start different activities. Examples: building emergency funds, 5-15 year horizon, retirement planning, navigating first payments (ex: student loans while starting to plan other investments). Also, perhaps linking to some good resources to help with some of the decisions (nerdwallet to pick credit cards/investments, Credit Karma to learn more about credit scores). Your “on deck” looks strong for credit card topics, but I might add “why you should have more than 1 card” to your list. For credit cards/hotels/air rewards points, maybe do a cents/point valuation sample to show what areas are best for redemption (i.e. Redeeming hotel points for gift cards is usually a terrible value compared to booking stays at the hotel).
It’s been so long since your last post. Anything juicy coming up?
Good information. Lucky mee I discovered your website
by accident (stumbleupon). I have book marked it for later!
Just a quick note to say that you have some great posts here–especially about exchange rates. Keep it up!
